1. What is BlobOff’s main difference from traditional cloud?
BlobOff is the first cloud built around physical disconnection. Your files are not only encrypted, they can also be completely offline until you decide to reconnect them.
2. How does BlobOff handle offline modes?
You choose the level of disconnection:
- Instant Mode → always on, near-zero latency.
- Standby Mode → semi-offline, reconnect in 2–5 seconds.
- Deep Offline → full cut of the disk and Raspberry, reconnect in ≤20 seconds.
3. How secure is BlobOff against quantum computing?
Even if quantum computers eventually break some forms of encryption, BlobOff adds a second shield: physical disconnection. A disk that is powered off and isolated cannot be attacked — quantum or not.
4. Can I decide which files to encrypt?
Yes. BlobOff supports selective encryption. You can encrypt sensitive files end-to- end, while keeping previews active for less critical files.
5. How does versioning work?
Every file in BlobOff has version control. Each change creates a new version you can recover at any time. Overwrites and deletions are never final.
6. Is redundancy automatic?
Yes. All files are mirrored permanently to additional storage. No file ever lives in a single copy.
7. Can I sync BlobOff with external drives?
Yes. BlobOff supports synchronization with external HDD/SSD. Block-level sync ensures only changed data is updated, making it efficient even with large files.
8. How can I rewind my account?
You can restore your entire BlobOff storage to an earlier state using version history and redundancy layers.
9. What about mobile backup?
BlobOff supports automatic mobile backup. With one click, all photos and videos are mirrored to your secure BlobOff account.
10. Can I share files with people who don’t use BlobOff?
Yes. You can create secure shared links (with password and expiration options) that work in any browser.
11. Can others upload files to my account?
Yes. Use File Requests to let people send you files securely. They can upload, but they cannot see or access your account.
12. Does BlobOff support public folders and direct links?
Yes. You can host static websites, embed images, or share files via direct links — always under your control.
13. How are backups managed?
Backups are permanent, redundant, and version-aware. They exist automatically. You don’t need to configure them.
14. What if my Raspberry or disk fails?
No problem. Redundancy ensures your files remain intact. BlobOff automatically switches to a mirrored copy.
15. Who holds the encryption keys?
Only you. BlobOff applies a zero-knowledge model: keys never leave your device.
16. What happens if I lose my device?
Your encrypted files remain safe. Without your keys, nobody can access them — not even BlobOff.
17. Where are the data centers located?
BlobOff servers are hosted in Belgium, fully under EU GDPR jurisdiction, powered 100% by renewable energy.
18. What if I need invoices for my account?
You can download invoices and receipts directly from your BlobOff dashboard. In addition, BlobOff can automatically forward all invoices to a dedicated billing email address, separate from your main account email. This makes accounting easier, whether for personal use or business.
19. Is BlobOff certified?
BlobOff is in the process of ISO certification (ISO 9001 & ISO 27001). Launching June 2026, official certification is expected in 2026–2027.
